If your on Maui this September 11th, you’ve got to check out the 5th Annual Ka Mai Ka Hula at the Castle Theatre, Maui Arts & Cultural Center (808) 242-7469 www.mauiarts.org 5th annual hula festival, this international competition features group and solo dancers from Japan as well as Hawaii Nei, (for those who don’t speak Hawaiian Nei mean all the Islands). Groups compete in male and female categories, along with solo performances in kahiko and auana. This festival also has a kupuna division. Come and feel the beat of the drums, while these talented dancers tell stories through the movement of hands and body keeping perfect time together with one another as if 10 where moving as one!
